We hope so. It would unredeemably stupid fo punch anothe oil pipeline to the pristine BC coast which over the centuries it will exist will return a much better return on investment fhan the few years oil has remaining. Ironically it also argues louder fir Alberta refineries to turn our own oil into all sorts of valuable commodities, and springboards for ever more industries as well. Zero enlightenment at the top in this country. It astounds me. Had Rachael taken my advice she'd still be premier with talk if her moving into federal politics. Alas.

Strategic timing. As more real information comes to attention it is possible to change direction. The situation has many layers, the political theatres, and reality evolving paradigms in real time. Mr Carney is an institutional leader- institutions in Canada change slowly- stability seeking and consensus mindset - a kind of cautious conserativism, regardless the political colour. The Conservative voices of Canada are being funded by USA right wing (OIL mainly), 🇨🇦Mining also- they are shouting loudly and often these days. Mr Carney is not a betting man, nor is he looking for applause, unlike his US counterpart. Creating opportunity and following through when the time AND SITUATION is right. Markham has given us REALITY of the SITUATION that Mr Carney and the financial sector can’t ignore- for much longer. Waiting requires patience- we learn patience with practice.

While I don't disagree with anything you wrote, when it comes to Alberta, Carney Always Chickens Out. We in Alberta will be on the hook for a new pipeline and oil sands cleanup. Canada will share a portion of that. Time to start checking out real estate prices in the rest of Canada, I guess.

And, here's the coup de gras for Alberta oil:

As demand decreases, as it surely will, the first oil to be sloughed off from the world market will be the most expensive and dirtiest to produce.

That's us.

So, with Alberta supplying for roughly 5% of the global demand, we will take the hit for the first 5% reduction. That reduction will happen before the pipedream is even built!

There is a reason that no private proponents have stepped up to build Dani's Dream, businessmen are realists, not dreamers.

I doubt anyone in government or business right now cares about oil sales in 2050. They will be long gone and forgotten, leaving a toasted planet and stranded assets, and no way to pay for the adaptation, migration and social unrest.

What are your thoughts re the deliberate stranding of green energy projects by Danielle smith?

Hmmn...paying attention to Alberta...

Listening to the Oil business Executives on the news, all I want to say is; "put up or shut up".

They are saying the government needs to ease up on CO2 regulations before they can invest …

Right, in an asset that will be frozen in what, 10 tears or just after completion…

Regulations that cost them almost nothing. Political theatre supported by years of oil propaganda.
